The Algarve

Portugal's most important tourist region and further south of Continental Portugal. The name Algarve comes from the Arabic word "Al-Gharb" (the West), culture that lasted for six centuries in the area, leaving numerous traces and influenced their customs, traditions and gastronomy to this day.
